October 2007 - NEW WINEMAKER APPOINTED
Since Drew Tuckwell has taken a new position in Mudgee, we have been looking for a suitable winemaker to replace him and ensure the high quality of our wines is maintained. In September this year, we appointed Michael Slater as our new winemaker. Michael is an experienced winemaker in the Mudgee area and we look forward to the 2007 vintage which is showing great promise.
August 2007 - MOOTHI ROCKS - NEW BLEND!!
We have just finished bottling our latest release wine - Moothi Rocks. It is a unique blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz which incorporates the smooth, easy drinking style of Merlot with a bit of a kick from the more robust varieties of Cabernet and Shiraz. We have purposely made this wine in a style suited to drink with meals as it doesn't overpower the foods and the wine is ready to drink straight away, without the need for cellaring. Moothi Rocks will be released in time for the September Wine Celebration in Mudgee and available for online ordering as well.
April 2007 - ONE YEAR ON
The Moothi Estate cellar door has just celebrated its first anniversary and we couldn't be happier! Although we still haven't won the battle of getting directional signs along the road - wine lovers are managing to find their way to Rocky Waterhole Road and experiencing the breathtaking views from our tasting area on the crest of the vineyard. If you or friends/family are planning a trip to Mudgee - make sure a visit to Moothi Estate is on the itinerary.
June 2006 - CELLAR DOOR BOOMING
Thank you to everyone who has visited our cellar door thus far. We are so happy with all the wonderful feedback provided and we hope everyone comes back again and again. We are planning our official opening to coincide with Wine Celebration month and the date set down for the party is September 16th 2006. We will also be holding 'twilight tastings' throughout September to showcase the sensational views our cellar door allows of a sunset over Mudgee. Keep checking our site for further updates.
